I've had 3 kites from new that I bought in 2010, and another one of the same vintage that I bought last year. What are these problems you speak of? Perhaps you need to choose better brand...
If it's not user error, then the manufacturer can deal with it. Manufacturer to distributer to retailer to customer is a total bull**** business model these days, designed so the pricks in the middle get their slice of the pie without doing anything useful.
So uv bought 4 kites in the last 6 years and that's your basis to question the integrity of my statement? Completely disregarding the hundreds of international money transaction and freight problems that could occur in ANY online purchase, manufacturing defects on brand new kites and boards are unfortunately abundant in this young industry you just have to do a quick search on the forums to confirm this.
I understand you say it's not the shops problem to deal with but in my experiance the difference is a local shop can turn around and offer u replacement product there and then on something that could potentially take months to sort out on the manufacturers end (then add the arse pain of correspondence and shipping internationally to that).
But yeah we hijacked this thread a bit and it really had nothing to to with local vs oversea shops so I'm sorry
