when the airport valve was first released duotone sent out a bunch of these little samples of them which the retailers could kinda have on deisplay etc. you could in theory.... get one of these and a bunch of tear aid and fabricate ya own..... but youd have to find a shop thats held onto this display item from like what? 2015?

that aside you become one these weponheads with half a dozen rusted out junk cars on ya front lawn for carcassing parts from but with old kites as you go down the road of buying 2nd hand kites etc...

my advice... just pay the 50$

and i say that ONLY because the second you put a DIFFERENT inflate valve on that anyone buying it is just going to be like WTF WHY IS THE VALVE DIFFERENT

youll be turning your kite into one those cars with a completely different models bonnet diff colour etc

so yeah ring around all the shops see if they have one in aussie dollers and then i guess go straight thru duo if thats your last option i bet theres plenty of aussie stores with a few replacements on the shelf.

give some of our east coast shops a yell dare i say start with the biggest

60 aussie from a kite retailer joel might be able to snavel it a little cheaper possibly but i dont know...

Firstly to og poster - if still needed I have an old valve here at my repair workshop you are welcome to - I don't think it will help though - I don't think the retrofit will work once the origional part has detached but I may be wrong.

Secondly, if buying from fix my kite AUS message then first as they hardly ever have stock nowadays. Regularly on website it states in stock and it isn't. Id use doc tuba or duotone for the new valve. I'm currently out of stock also. Action sports wa and wa surf should hold stock. Also note the duotone valves are tricky to fit so if you haven't done a few before I'd get a repairer to do it for you.

Finally, Mark - not a good idea to recommend an aftermarket replacement in this case - that's a really bodgy thing to do and the way the duotone valve fixes to leading edge means this really wouldn't work well. Also price for cheapest aftermarket 'large boston' type valve is $45 plus fitting

Thanks for the response. It's the first Duotone kite I've owned. (I think it's a 2020 or 2021) (Dice). So I don't have any experience with other models or years. From what I can tell, it looks like someone has bent the hose while still connected to the kite and broken one of the barbs off the little blue insert. It had two barbs. One is broken so it doesn't seat in the valve when you press it in, but it still goes into the valve. To keep the kite from losing air while you're pumping, the blue thing needs to be seated in the valve, held in place by both barbs and the O-ring keeps the air from escaping around the hose. I'm only guessing here but it looks to me like the little blue thing just snaps in place inside the valve.

We no longer replace the valves because the installation is so tricky that we have about a 1 in 3 failure rate during installation and if you mess it up, you need another one. It's a little more expensive, but 100% more reliable to just replace the bladder. We do have a few in stock if you want to give it a go, but I think you'll find, it'll be a disaster.
