I think everyone was kited out after Sat, Sun, Mon and Tues. Can't remember ever having so many NE days in a row.

Dolls sucks in southerlies. Boat Harbour is much nicer, less gusty.

Also note, many Sydney kiteboarders are pussies . If the weather or wind isn't absolutely perfect many won't go out. And they go into hibernation in winter.

Cheers Victor,
That streak of North Easterlies was insane!

Is Boat Harbour at the North of Cronulla which is only accessible by 4wd?

Btw, Is anywhere kiteable when it is Easterly? say SE- E?

Cheers

Lol, wasn't being serious. But I reckon it is true that kiteboarders in Sydney (well maybe I should say kiteboarders who kite at Brighton, Dolls, Wanda and Boat Harbour - which covers almost all the decent spots in Sydney south of the bridge) are quite selective about when they go out. In these spots more people go out in NEs than in N/SE/SW?S wind directions (although I think Wanda and Boat harbour don't really work in any northerly direction).

Note, I did say "many" and not "most" Sydney kiteboarders. And I will say most Sydney kiteboarders are better than me .

By the way, it was nice meeting you yesterday Caelah. I saw you get going on the board, looking good!

Hey Monkey, I've realised you're the fellow UNSW student down at Dolls. Boat Harbour is at the farther end of Cronulla. They have a carpark now which is about a 300m walk to the kiting spot so you can still go without a 4WD which is what I do. Any southerly I believe will work. For a full E wind I don't know any spot, maybe Kurnell. But I also can't seem to remember any full E wind that was every very strong.

"Most Sydney kiteboarders" seem to have a better self-preservation instinct than myself. I will often kite till it's almost dark and I'm not too worried about being the only person on the water. Not sure why, call it stupidity.

There have been a number of times now when it's gotten darker and Monkey and I are the only ones left.

Hey Victor .....my hat off to you......you're always out there no matter what and even as the sun is going down....... I think I should follow your example because being "selective" reduces my flying time margin waaaay too much and then to make myself feel better about missing out I'll dig out a reason from somewhere!!

Gotta make use of the daylight before its gone man!
When daylight savings set in, its gonna suck!

Victor you've been kiting lately? I've been too busy catching up with schoolwork.
Going down to Melbourne during easter for 5 days, hope it blows man!
