Just bought one. Used it for the first time Saturday but didn't have much wind. Got about 45 minutes of me mowing the lawn on a directional. Initial impression is of a well put together unit. It tracked flawlessly out to a range of about 300 metres with a claimed range of 600 metres. I did a couple of quick turns close to shore and the unit changed direction and held me centre of frame the whole time. Will post a longer review and some clips as soon as we get some decent wind.

The girlfriend wants to know why she had to strap on a beacon thing in bed.
All too hard.

Would you use that on a Perth beach. Probably get nicked while you were doing your backroll.

Doesn't that make your camera a really obvious and easy target for thieves?

They are actually available for a quad copter , have a mate in the US that designs the electronics for them and he suggested doing this , same deal , you wear a beacon and you can program the copter to circle you or do whatever you would like at a set distance height etc .
