After having driven along the beach from Lano for twenty minutes we arrived at Wedge Island. The wind was 15 to 20 knots and the direction was perfect side shore for the waves on the eastern side of Wedge Island. Perfect, smooth, sheltered 2 foot waves all right handers breaking for 150 metres.

Rigged the new 10m Halo and had a session all to myself on the surfboard Sic! A mini smack fest of too much fun. Wedge was pretty much deserted but the sky was clear most of the time and the wind was good.

Must to it again soon with maybe a bit more swell.

Who else had a good sesh yesterday? Was Perth going off?

Good winds,

Hey wasn't all bad in Perf yesterday, had a good session at Mullaloo in the morning, a bit onshore, but that allowed us to ride the flat water almost up to the surf club and then back into the waves on the way out.

Then an afternom session at Pinnaroo, again the wind allowed us to go up to the marina and ride the small waves close to the northern groyne.

All up about 5 hours on the water, aint complaining about that

Hey Lads,

We were racing up the beach in Patrols "at speed" shall we say, very quick trip from Dide bay to Wedge.

The sand was soft as per usual in many places but we had no problems at all, ran 14 pounds in the tyres and it was pretty easy. We did skirt around from the rocks to Wedge where a couple of guys got pretty bogged in what looked like a Honda CRV (derr!) at a narrow stretch so we couldn't pass. We trekked back along the beach the whole way on the way home and it was sweet! Gotta love 4 wheelin' on beaches to go to secluded kite spots

We only encountered 4 or 5 other 4WD vehicles and a handful of dirt bikes the whole day, guessing the weather scared em off.

Wedge is too sweet in good conditions, and so close to home!

What about it, anyone else have a fun sesh yesterday, must have been bulk people out in that wind?

Wedge is hardly a secret spot. I doubt KiteHard's post will have hordes of surf media frothing on the place anytime soon.

green head was sweet. Really good waves, although would have been nice if the wind swung a touch more southerly. Then it dropped out That is so NOT like Green Head

On the way home I made the mistake of trying to go out at Moore River mouth. On shore winds and big shore break were not a good combo. Got hamnmered for 20 min and only made it out through the surf once, so gave up and went home
