Yesterday while kiting at Cottesloe I had my Slingshot kite bag (empty) stolen from the beach.
I saw the persons do it but was unable to catch them as they had a head start and managed to get in there car before I got back to the beach.
I did not get the cars plates and could not identify the model (silver older model hyundai I think).
I'd thought that Cottesloe would have been a safe place as there is a lot of people traffic through there but obivously this is not the case.
So as a reminder - Do not take anything valuable to the beach either in your car or left on the beach.

I have had this happen to me twice (Mullaloo and Shoalwater) both times it was a nearly new kitebag which I never recovered and both times I have seen it happen but as I was on the water I couldn't stop them.

I never leave anything in my kite bag now and always open it right up, lay it out flat and just sit my pump on top so it is obvious there is nothing in it.

If they keep grabbing bags and find nothing in them they will soon get sick of it but if when they grab a bag it has a wallet, phone, camera, sunnies etc they will keep coming back.
So think about what you take down the beach do you really need to take your phone

Once they stole my Fuel Bag.
To be honest with you Slingshot bags are the best bags ever.
When I bought another kite I kept my fuel bag and one bast#$d stole it at the beach.

What a bunch of C@#^S. You get so sick and tired of hearing this crap go on. One day someone will pay for all of the crap stolen from cars and beaches.
Councils need to step up and provide all areas with CCTV cameras. It's the only way to catch the A Holes.

Sorry to hear about that I hope you didn't lose anything of great value. I hate theft with a passion god help the guy I ever catch. I've had my cars broken into 3 times so I have sympathy for you dude.

You have my sympathy too fjordfiend. I can't stand thieves either, it's just a low act. I always thought my bag was pretty safe on the beach...I guess it's not.

I just got my car back from the repairer after it was broken into. The $10 they stole out of it equated to a $334 repair bill for me.

Its such a gamble either way, do you leave it in tha car or take it to the beach and risk it in the bag.

I've had the car broken into at woodies, but had nothing stolen on the beach (yet!)

I've been seriously thinking about installing a small safe bolted in the back of the ute for this.

Don't go too harsh on the poor culprits

You have to take into consideration, their background and the fact that their entire looser family is on benfits so it is pretty hard being a petty criminal

That is the opinion i got from a few good people out there when i rejoiced in a previous post about a low life scum coping a serving that he truly deserved

Didn't really change my opinion tho, tie them to the toe bar and drive to Geraldton without checking your rear view mirror once

Sorry to hear about your misadventure mate, hopefully karma will get them.
