Hey all,
I'm thinking of adding another kite to my quiver, I'm looking at the 11m 2014 Best GP at the moment and wondering if anyone has advice on this?
I currently only have a 2012 8m Noise which has been pretty good for learning for me. I'm around 68kg and find the Noise to be ok for 13 knots to around 22/24 (haven't had a day where it has been too high yet). So far the noise is good except it's a bit slow on the turning and is pretty hard to pop as it is a wave kite. I just kinda load up and then the power dies.
I'm thinking of adding the Best but I've no experience with C kites and am wondering if it will be a worthy addition to the quiver in terms of wind range. Also picking the best as it is a freestyle kite and that's a style I would like to explore. The sites say for
BWS Noise 8m - 12-22kts for a 70kg rider (13-22+ in my experience)
Best GP 11m - 12 -24kts (no rider weight specified)
I think there are two things that may account for this. 1, BWS kites are usually measured differently so an 8m will perform more like a 9/10m and 2, the GP wind range might be for a rider more than 70kg. Anywho, if I add the GP to my quiver, at most I may extend my kiteable wind range from 10-22+ from 13-22 which is not a big increase but I do get a C kite to explore freestyle with.
Other options at the moment include a Slingshot RPM 2012 10m.
Would appreciate any wisdom to be shared, thanks.
the rpm is good but nothing will extend your wind range much if you fly an 8 @ 13
i fly 10m RPM to about 26 @ 75kgs
great alround kite though for unhooking
