Ahooi guys.. Im a kiter from Cape Town in South Africa and am
looking at moving to Aus. I dont know Aus's kiting spots etc. Can
someone pls point me in the right direction at finding the sickest area in Aus for kiting with lots of sunshine lots of wind and a chilled out vibe...? Any info will help. Id really appreciate it!

Don't think of them as sharks and crocodiles... just think of them as kickers and sliders, provided free by Mother Nature for your enjoyment.

2 years ago, the Lizard island research station (90km N of cooktown) did not record a single instance of the SE dropping below 20 knots for the whole period from April 1st to the end of september! Most of that time it was 25-35knots. Yeah there are some sharks, but it is easy to see them through the crystal clear blue water , and they aren't the type that are likely to mistake you for a seal and take of a limb just to have a taste test.
Kite heaven.

Hey Greenie

The guys up north don't have to worry about the sharks and Crocs too much.

The sharks and Crocs have the distinct disadvantage of having to swim through the dark brown slick eminating from the rear of the fleeing kiteboarders.

i live on the east coast and have no probs admitting the perth / wa sea breeze is the most consistent, non gusty wind you can get in australia and ive kites almost everywhere else. it's really good in JAn typically but from dec - mar and maybe april even can still be blowing, then it shifts to inland breezes which are inherently gustier
the east coast on the other hand is normally 10 kts lighter and lately has been getting whimpering summertime seabreeses from 8 - 14/16 kts. vs perths average which is abuot 18-23kts, the inland breezes over east are however stronger than the inland breezes over west but are gustier as they are inland. There are good lakes around to ride these winds depending on your location but unless its the " correct direction" it's gusty and the water is usually freezing in the dams in winter
