Long story short, I broke my 06 Underground FLX 128 which I have always really liked on landing a jump (on water for the record). The board was out of its 1 year warranty period but I mentioned my sad loss in passing to Steve at Kitepower where I originally purchased the board. Steve asked to see the board and noted that it was in perfect condition (other than the break) and not even any gouges on the fins. That was that.

I get a phone call from Kitepower two days later saying that Steve had spoken to Underground on my behalf and explained the situation. They went on to say that Underground would be replacing my board with a current model regardless of the warranty period. How good is that ??!! In the mean while, Steve gave me a spanking new demo board to use until my new weapon arrives. Today I get another phone call from Kitepower saying my new board is in and ready to pick up.

I just don’t think Customer service gets much better than this from any company, let alone two of them at once.

I’d just like to say a huge thanks to Adrian at Underground Kiteboarding for taking such pride in your product and standing behind it 100% when you really weren’t obligated to. It says a lot about the Company, its products and its people.

An equally huge thanks to Steve and the gang at Kitepower who, without me asking, went in to bat on my behalf for no other reason than to support the products they sell and provide Customer service (to a small customer) above and beyond the call of duty.

Cheers,

IAN

Hi all, had a conversation yesterday on the beach, cheering Underground for my new board. It turns out that their warranty is 12 months, not 6 as I’d thought. Basically, this means the board they replaced so quickly was actually still under warranty by a gnats hair. Hope I didn’t mislead anyone by thinking it was out of warranty. Still super-stoked with the backup and service I received.

PS: Rode the new board yesterday… the new Undergrounds are sweeeeeet !
