Is it possible to fix a hole the size of two big fists in a leading edge bladder. If so how, does anyone in Perth do it?
If not does anyone have an LE bladder for a 15m Liquid Force Spectrum 1 they want to sell..
Help i'm totally desperate and cannot get on the water without one of these tubes of joy.

I have fixed plenty of bladders with holes that big or bigger, provided they are not in line with any valves (but even then it can be done if you have the parts and patience).
You need a plastic bag sealer, and baking paper, you cut a piece of baking paper larger than the whole ans so that it covers the entire inside of the bladder where you will weld.
Then you need a piece of baldder material large enough to cover the hole.
Weld across the bladder, and then along the existing seams.
Experience helps, my efforts now are much better and neater than my first efforts, and I usually get it right and perfectly sealed first go now.

I heard that someone at SOS in Perth has a bag sealer??

Otherwise buy a new bladder or post me your busted one?

Hi Poor Relative,
Yeah Kite Doctor has a fancy new method where he cuts the bladder open, turns it inside out, repairs it from the inside, then heat seals it back up again. Quite involved and naturally a little pricier than quick fixes but for LEs (expensive) and difficult to replace bladders it is a great option. See Bo's post for Dean's contact number.

Anyone know what the bladders are exactly made from & where or who you can buy this 'material' from?

I think its genetic I just can't throw out things that look useful or repairable. I get all the material I need and more from discarded bladders.
I'm sure you could buy it and that it is not an expensive material.
They all look to be a form of polyurethane.
Always test a section first to make sure the bladder and the patch will weld OK, and also the heat setting is very important.

I might pass thiis useful information to my grandma, she has to pee evey five minutes! Sounds like a relatively simple procedure...
