Hi I am thinking of getting some Blueye sun glasses as I keep loosing my contacts when I crash and get sore eyes after a session in the sun. The question is what colour lenses to get as you get 2 lenses with the purchase does anyone else have these and can recomend what lenses to get?

I have also just noticed that they have two varities Tadpole and Squid who has what and why?

The clours are
Smoke
Yellow
Mirror
Orange

Go the Squids. The Tadpoles are like a pair of goggles and they fill with water when you crash. Thne squids are like the OAKLEY water ones and have an ajustable strap on the back. Got mine from Adrenalin Rush in Mackay.

Yeah, the Blueye's are good, go for the Squids, have to leave the fashion choices up to you, I've got the yellow frames and red lenses.
I shortened the strap on mine after the first pair I had slipped off my head while kiting, I nearly dragged back to them then a wave broke and I never saw em again. Also noticed that the arms aren't always well glued together, check and super glue if they slide apart.

I use the Oakley Water Jackets with my prescription lenses in them, strap around the back of the head then Gath helmet over the lot, surfing, kiting, no problems and they are bulletproof. You get what you pay for, like most things in life.

A wave knocked my tadpoles off my head 2 days ago - with the strap as tight as it can possibly go. I wonder if I can put a claim in to the manufacturer for a new pair? Surely they should be able to withstand normal use in the surf

I like the sound of the "Unrestricted Peripheral vision" of the tadpole. Send em an email Coopsey. They claim they float. Can't hurt. Maybe mention that they could use the good publicity on a well used forum

BOOMAN, done a search thats how I found out about the blueyes in the first place, however what I wanted to know was what colour lenses I should get as you get two I thought one for cloudy day and the other for sunny but not knowing much about lenses dont know what does what.

Where they happy for you to get both the squids and the tadpoles and return one?

For those that can't make it into a shop to try them on the red lenses would definately be better for a cloudy day as they appear brighter. For constantly looking towards the sun the grey lenses would be better. The only downside to the Squids is they dont float but they do come with a neck strap with a neoprene float. If you need prescription lenses the seaspecs can be ordered to suit your needs.

thinking of getting these same glasses myself, can someone who uses them tell me does the water from spray etc bead off easily? i have tried other glasses in the past and they fog up and get water drops on lenses so its hard to see.

Try "Rainex" - works great and doesn't smell - Supercehap Auto - $7
per bottle which will last a lifetime.

You can use it on your windscreen as well

i think some of you missunderstood.....
i meant the search option of seebreeze.com.au lol ....thats why forums are great
diffrent lenses for diffrewnt day are a good idea though the tadpoles come with a spare set of lenses diffrent color , for me its more of a comfort thing and eye my eyes totally covered tadpoles work for me but if you want to wear something that looks cool go the squid:)
