I've kitesurfed at Pinaroo point for a few seasons now, and I'm noticing there's more and more people coming close to loosing thier boards, because they can't body drag upwind back to thier board when they come off (plus a few I know of that have lost thier board because of this same reason).

As the prevailing current around the point is almost more southerly than south-westlery, if you get seperated from your board it wont wash onto the shore, it will stay out at sea and follow the coast.

If people kiting at Pinaroo are at a stage where they're thinking of ditching thier leash, it's a good idea to make sure you can body drag up wind before you do so.

Nobody likes to spend the rest of thier season without a board

Cheers
