If there is not much wind, bit of swell and ya waitin for the wind to pick up. Whip out a surfboard and ride the waves. You should do alright if the wind is cross/sideshore. The waves will help push you into shore.
Ps: Might wanna use an older board because you will ding it and smash it with your bar,,, tried it today at secret harbour. Wind was offshore SE, got a couple of nice waves in....
