Totally agree with you Kurt. Leave the politics out lol.
We should organise social events to enjoy the sport, get sponsors to throw in a few beers and some sausages each time. Run it like a monthly or even fortnightly event, gear swap, 2nd hand market, demos.....

Even a small one would be min. 30 kiters. I guess it depends on the comp details - let's face it there aren't many paul jackson's or ryan griffiths around to have a high level event.
Ian, trouble is with a leader - always comes opposition.
I have been invovled with a few sporting clubs for different sports
over the years, and unfortunately none of them have been pleasant, interesting or rewarding experiences. Always ends up a blend of personalities, politics, paperwork and rebels.
Wouldn't a comp idea run better if was done by an identity like a shop or school with the only stipulation being aksa membership? I'm just guessing here. Then we could all have a good selection of events to enter or spectate.
Anyhow - just thinking out aloud. Keen to hear everyone elses take on it.
I am going to organise a few social events this season thru Brisbane Kiteboarding, mainly aimed at social riding, nice locations and prizes and giveaways. There will be no stipulations on gender, kiting style or memberships of any organisation or club.
