Hey,

Have just moved to Brisbane and would like some info about where to go for a kitesurf. Any info about Brighton, Sandgate, Wellington Point and any other places would really be appreciated (wind direction, tide, launching, restrictions, dangers ect)

Also, is there any good local websites and kite shops.

Can you even get out this time of the year?

I weigh 90kg and fly an 11m SS.

Cheers

Welcome

This website is probably the best site that goes into some detail about each location http://www.brisbanekiteboarding.com/locationsx.html

I kited down at Narrowneck last Sunday in a 15-25 know Sly, but it was also windy at Wello, and I am sure everywhere else. Southerly's or Westerly's are the likely winds that are going to come in...

You still get a $375 fine at Wello if you have your kite on the grass.

brighton can be kiteable in any thing from a northerly all the way around to the southerly(via the east)the straight northerly and southerly can be a bit of a let down at times here ,but theres all ways queens in these conditions .there is a good kite shop at the end of 19th ave at brighton (briskites) also brighton above 2mtr mark at high tide can be a soup bowl and will be above standing depth.you can kite at suttons as well just be aware of the puplic here as it has a surf club here
