re your comments on the "Right of Way" thread re calling brrezes too strong......

I humbly submit to your superior knowledge of the wind but...

I called 20-28 kts on Sunday am because I was looking at those figures available on Seabreeze (wap service) on my mobile phone at that time.

Also if you look at Sunday on the link below you will see that the 10 minute average was around 20 kts (gusts are not shown on that graph - but on the day the readings were up to 28)...

Maybe the wind reading needs calibrating - but it felt like a 35 kt squall -

in my experience sand blowing starts well below 25knots - nearer 15 to 17knots. Depends on your sand I guess though :) Cott has that nice powdery stuff, not like the pebbles you get up at Scarbs. Agree with the bit about 12m and 23 knots.

24/25 knots = sand whiping into sending pain through your legs if you are wearing shorts.
