Most of the default you tube clips you watch will be low resolution (small files)
Most of the Vimeo clips you watch will be higher res (large Files)
So if you have a slow internet contection you will be watching a vimeo clip quicker than you are downloading it.
Try pausing the vimeo clip and then just read something else for a minute or two till it builds up enough buffer then watch it without interuption
