Hey guys
I have been reading the forums for a couple weeks now when ever i get a minute at work.
I have been wanting to start Kite surfing for a few years now but never really had the time or the money to do so. tho now I have finished saving for my holiday ( I dont get back untill July) I can finally spend some money and get started.
I guess my questions are when should I start, because i think i will be financially secure to start christmas this year maybe a little earlier, when does the season start? and how often do you get to kite in winter is it just really only in the summer, I come from NZ so the cold doesnt scare me.
Also I looked on wa kite association and they have a few schools available all really offering something like $500 for 6 hours.
Which I didn't want to spend more that. Which schools do you recommend ? And the rest of my question I will figure out eventually such as all the terms i see in the forums such as the "window" and which kite I should go for and board and wether to get a foil or a bladder kite.

Anyway Thanks to every one who replies to this and I cant wait to see you out there!

Should be on 'noob' status within next week.
The anticipation is killing me. Did the unofficial lesson thing in Bali July of last year and what a rush !
This time, I'll hopefully get some real lessons from an english speaking person. The lessons in Bali were great but damn, was it hard trying to move a kite around and work out what the hell instructor was yelling out to me in half english.
Pays to get the right lessons. Might actually learn something this time round.
forbsy.

I think that is excessive $500 for six hours of lessons. I can get 10 hour three day packages for $450 .

Hi newbs
if u buy a kite from any decent kite shop they will include free lessons.
or if u have lessons first they will take the lesson price of your kite cost.
check Choice Kitesurfing - near Woodies Point. WA
i am very happy with their products and service.
