I have a Cardboard Wave which I got at the end of last season. I havent had a ride due injury and work, but hope to get out this week.
I was wondering what people have found to be the best placement for the footpad/straps, as it is not symmetrical like a regular twin tip.
I was thinking if the pad closest to the thruster fin setup was too far back it would be great for carving (regular setup) but not so great if you want to switch to relieve back leg pressure or to get upwind a little easier.
Interested in some different ideas.

Been using the CB wave for a year now and looooove it.

Depends on your main style man. I am a TT rider, who likes to then switch onto my toes in the surf, head back and boost, ride both ways.

So my straps are placed middle, like a TT - with slight more up the front end.

When in big surf, just surfing, i have moved the back strap over the thrusters, gives more dig, tighter carves etc.

When in the flat i take thruster off and put TT's on and it's an awesome TT.

It's more of TT that surfs remember, not the other way round. Although apparently Nate make it look like a SB that is a TT! - but for us mere mortals, a tt that surfs.

Are you gonna ride the other way, or are you mainly surfing. Question you gotta answer.

Ultimately it rides best for me when set centre.

let us know what you find, you will love it, get some time to dial it in. When switching over to thruster fins forward (i.e. like TT), be sure to lean back on the rail just a little bit more - have never caught the thruster yet, but it makes for a more smooth transition.

Just a fantastic board mate, wouldn't ride any other.

oh yeh actually goes upwind better the other way, with thrusters forward - screams upwind.

also try and email Nate (pornstar I think on seabreeze), he knows everything abotu this board as it was designed for him to ride at gnarloo.

also give darren and crew a call at AKS - they have demoed this board for a while now, and have all ridden it themselves, they know what it can do.

Hi Eppo
I will be using it similar to what you use it for, TT style in surf. (I have a 6" WAM as well if I just want to ride surf/waves)

I notice it has 2 sets of 2 screw holes, 1 set starting 300 mm from the tail and another set 330 mm from the tail (thruster end) while 3 sets of 2 screw holes starting 360/390/415 mm from the nose of the board. This potentially gives you 2 adjustments positions from the rear of board and 3 from the front with variable splay/duck options for both front and rear.

I was going to set up the rear pad closest to the centre (330 mm from tail) and go with the middle or front option on the front pad if that makes sense.

Hopefully will be able to test it on Thursday.

Yeh sounds like you have a much better grip on the technical measurements than me!

it would be worth giving NATE (pornstar) an email, as he surfs some serious stuff on his, ask about his setup man. Have fun...

Im really not good eppo, not worthy.

Set your thruster foot, far back so you can feel the fins.
Then go a wide stance like you surf. Measure the dirty spots on your surf board.
The board is plenty long enough.
