Ok firstly a big thanks to all of our sponsors for supporting our event and to all the riders who turned up to support what we are doing, and to make the event successful once again.
What a HHUUUGGGEE weekend.Friday went off at the skate park with people every where turning up to to watch the bike, skate, scooter and Slingshot Dave in the inline comp and the winch comp. There is something about a kid front flipping out of a 7ft mini ramp and riding away or flaring in it on a scooter that just isnt natural. It had a great vibe with 12 live bands playing over the top of the skate park and everyone enjoying the carnage that ensued and some of the astounding tricks that all the competitors pulled of.From the 4yr old to 35 yr old who competed everyone enjoyed themselves and the spectators enjoyed watching.
Winch results
1st Blake Tuffery
2nd Cam Barker
3rd Chris Wardell
Saturday started a little sketchy with the wind around 10knts and a fair bit of cloud cover. The relay race was postponed and later canceled as conditions went from one extreme to the other as the wind rose to a gusty 20-25knts so the decision was made to send everyone out to freeride the rest of the afternoon.
Sunday was a bright and clear day with everyone who didnt go to Yachties in the creek relatively early on the runout tide.Easter sunday has never yet let us down with wind and it was the same this year with the wind steadily rising throughout the the day until finals time at 2.30 with the ladies going out first.

The open mens again was a franetic display with the like of blake tuffery, myles snowden and dan smith going hard early, but at the end of the day it was the likes of youngsters Luke burke and Andy Yates and the seasoned campainers like Dave sorensen who shone through. In all honesty It was the best final that I have witnesses at the Classic in its 5yr history.
Opens
1st Andy Yates
2nd Luke Bourke
3rd Dave Sorensen
A special mention has to go to Andy Yates who after the final had finished stayed on the water and had the crowd in AWE when he pulled the GENERAL. If anyone got a photo of it I would love to have a copy.
Once again thanks to everyone who turned up and we will see you again next year.
P.S. photos comming soon.

Nice one Justin. Yet again the Coconet crew turned it on and true to word, bigger and better than last year, thats for true. Can't wait to see how big this comp/event actually can get.
The band concept was awesome and is bound to be the big mover. Having the winch comp at the skate park works awesome, except for the few of us that did eat ** in the first few runs, but the lads who sessioned it for pretty much most of the day had it dialled. Big thanks to Cam and Josh for getting the rail sorted and making it mellow yet still challenging.
Want to thank all those who got the microphone shuffed in their face by Uncle Sid, everyone saw the funny side and contributed to the overall scene on the beach and made it a fanastic weekend for the public.
Speaking of Uncle SID, I have heard he may be in Mackay checking out Joe and Mel's ARSEA! That is shaping up to be a big event also 7 to 9th Jun, looking forward to seeing the winch setup, three pools, three rails maybe even a kicker!(word has it)
Biggest thanks to Tim, Karen, Danielle, Justin, Burnsie and all the crew from Coconet and ArmFlame for their passion towards our sport and for helping large in keeping the freestyle arena active. Without these guys standing up for 5 years running and throwing in large amounts of money to make each year even bigger and better the freestyle kiting scene would definately be going backwards.
I know I had a lot of fun on and off the water, it was another successful, well run comp with awesome food all day and night bar the one. Huge effort from the Lions volunteers, thank you and we look forward to doing it all again next year.
Cheers Chris Wardell

Hey everyone, thankyou first to Danielle, burnsi, Tim, justin and all your helpers.
The event was so much fun and so awesome, as it has been every year.
For anyone that hasn't seen some scooter action it was the sickest thing ever.
To Cam and josh, the slider was so sick, thanks for putting in such a hughe effort with it. Next time I will have more of a session on it with you and skate a little less.
The guys in the park, I loved the half pipe session with everyone was so much fun. I'll get some practise before I coome next year for it..

Unlike last year the footage/formatted program will be at fuel in the next 8-10 weeks I believe.I also believe that the DVDs of the weekend should be ready in about 12 weeks. Unbeknowns to myself or anyone at Coconet there was a couple of freelance media guys running around at the Skate park on the Friday and both 2020 BMX MAG and SLAM Skate mag will be running features on the event in the next issue.Talk about event coverage.Someone has already posted a snippet of the Bmx comp on youtube gives you an indication of how many people were there throughout the day.For some unknown reason i cannot put the link on here so just type COCONET BMX and it will come up
The Guy who was up here for Fuel is Warren Melling and he is also putting together the DVD as well.
Josh I would lend you my knees but they had surgery about 14yrs ago and just aint the same as they used to be.
