Hi

Group of my friends have left the UK and are staying in Melbourne for about a year, they don't kite but im thinking of joining them from december to june roughly to get away from the UK for the winter. I dont know exactly where they are staying as they have just left.

If anyone can offer advice for the following it would be much appreciated.

What are the wind conditions like for the months stated, cant take much but im 86kg and thinking of just taking a 12m bow and one board (132cm)

What beaches have flat water spots and where are they located? also do they require membership and are vistors welcome? also do any of them have storage?

How easy is it to get a job in or around melbourne as a foriegner and what is the transport like to and from beaches price wise?

I am doing my own research as well but would like people tips and opinions please.

Cheers

St Kilda, Altona, Brighton all good in southerly.
Brighton passable in a northerly but these are normally gusty.
All 3 are 15 - 20 mins from city centre except in peak hour traffic.
Rye in northerly is 1 hour drive.

12m bow will suit 90% of days

for Victorian kiting info

Southerly seabreeze wind goes from sometime march onwards until about now, which is when you go to Rye.
