Hi everyone,
I'm Robin, 27 years old, 73 kilo's, love the freestyle, I'm from Amsterdam/Netherlands and I hope the wind is treating you all well.
I'll be staying in Perth for about 4 months and hope to do alot of kiting. Looking forward to it alot.
I'll be bringing my 2006 11 and 15 Fuels (wich are compareable with a 9 and 13 in range). Would this be ok for that period and will I be needing a wetsuit at all?
I've heard and read about a few good spots around Perth, but all tips are welcome. Also tips about cheap places to stay would be helpfull.
Thanks in advance, and hope to meet some of you while I'm over there.
Robin

Good kites...Prob dont need a wetsuit, but if it fits in your bag then bring it...Woodies is good, All beaches are good, but make sure you kite in the right spot ( not near beach goers) so make sure for that!!!hope that helps a little

Your site guide to spots is above.

Please note that all us WA kiters are friendly, keep to local "rules" and help each other out. All about having fun and smiling here in WA...enjoy.

You will not need a wettie and if you are hear 4 months you need to travel around a bit...the whole coast is one big kiting paradise.

Oh, you should get your "ticket to kite" before arriving via. the WAKSA website, all done over the net and by post easy. This years colour is blue, Oct. 07 until Sept. 08.

You will not need a wettie....but SUN cover, esp. if you plan to be out every day.

Yo,

First go to Woodman's point and than (once you're bored of flat water) Which wont happen that easy....go up north and find the best waves...

Ben er 2 x geweest, er zijn plekken die je zelf moet vinden ;) Ze houden er niet van om het achterste van hun tong te laten zien......Ergens boven Canarvon en Gerarldton.....you'll find it.

Vakantie?

Mvg,

Rens

xenophobic west Australian teenys...

Carb, Space, and others having problems with kite tourism... Get over it it's here to stay... How about you make a business out of it instead of complaining! buy cheap vans from the Quokka fit them out with a bed, a water tank and odds&ends... Then sell em to the Kiteterrorist and hope they drive off into the wild blue yonder!!

Robin, mate! you got a bed at my gaf for as long as you need... it 30mins from the beach and a 6 bedroom 2 bathroom palace.. Rent is super cheap for international kiters and i'll help you get a cheap set of wheels to get you on the road and away from the crowded city spots...( i sent you a pm)

oh yeah and Robin forget going to woodies Bch 1... it's only opened to "best and most influential riders crew" over the summer months.

Thanks for the tips and pm's everybody.
I do understand what carbine and spacemonkey mean, but I'll do my best to stick to the local rules.
I'm not the typical arrogant tourist who thinks he owns the spot and disrespects everybody .

Haha I don't mind tourists... just depressing cause at the moment its all locals there and its really nice. But for the last few weeks the front page of the forums have been riddled with questions of people coming to kite in perth. Show respect and you will have no worries.

Most of us WA kiters have joined WAKSA and pay a yearly fee for membership and insurance.

Some places in WA, like Cottesloe require you to display your membership tag, which is blue this year, on your harness.

Please use the Search feature on this forum to inform yourself, or simply sign up now.

I just joined WAKSA a minute ago. I already had insurance, but this way I'm sure it is ok, and it never hurts to support the local association.
Probably will be staying at poskos place. Looking forward to it alot.

Been to scarborough and pinnaroo point. Really have to get used to riding in the waves, but it is really cool. Awesome how a lot of you guys ride strapless en air out of the waves etc.
Pinnaroo point felt more comfortable to me, being more of a flat water kiter. Now me and my girlfriend are going to Monkey Mia, hope there will see some good spots along the way and get some more wave practice.
