Going to Costa Rica in August/September.

I do not think it is the best season for wind, but anyone been and got any comments in relation to where to kite and what's it like.

The surfboard is going too, so feel free to comment on surfing too.

Thanks

Go to a place in the Nth West coast (right on the border) called Playa Copal (Bahia Salinas). It's very secluded and you can get cheap accom, check it out at www.suntoursandfun.com. Known as one of the 10 windiest spots in the world.

jjd,was 10 yrs since I went to costa rica. From memory it may be a bit wet at the time you're going. The west coast is the place for surf, east coast is nov/dec,great fun waves up & down the whole coast so pack your short board.playa negra in the north,in the mid coast near Jaco, take a boat to Escondida, filthy little reef(lefts & rights).South coast has a really long left but the name eludes me(its a river mouth).Best way to get around is to hire a 4x4.The locals are unbelievably friendly. It does get onshore there but kitesurfing was'nt around back then so I did'nt take much notice of the wind, but you will score some great waves in warm water.Hope this helps.
cheers Andrew
