does anyone else find calling people douche bags, whether abbreviated deliberately or not, a bit offensive?

seems to be a common term these days with the young yobbos.

A douche is a device used to introduce a stream of water into the body for medical or hygienic reasons, or the stream of water itself.

Douche usually refers to vaginal irrigation, the rinsing of the vagina, but it can also refer to the rinsing of any body cavity. A douche bag is a piece of equipment for douching—a bag for holding the fluid used in douching. To avoid transferring intestinal bacteria into the vagina, the same bag must not be used for a vaginal douche and an enema.

why are people being referrered to as this?

are they a bag of water intended for vaginal flushing?

sounds like fun!

I once saw a stripper 'absorb' an entire 500ml douche bag and then stand over top of the blindfolded 'groom to be' and 'unabsorb' it on his chest.

(Sorry to any girls out there reading this)...

Greenleader, very eloquent. You rock.

Good point, the origin of insulting terminology. Dickhead? Why? Doesn't make sense. C
c*&t - why again? They're obviously not one as they have legs and breathe through their mouths.

The term Douche has been used for years. It's an extremely common insult in north america but used to be reserved for guys wearing polo shirts with their collar up and perfectly gelled hair like this guy.

From the urban dictionary:

1) An individual who has an over-inflated sense of self worth, compounded by a low level of intellegence, behaving ridiculously in front of colleagues with no sense of how moronic he appears.

2) Someone who has surpassed the levels of jerk and a_sshole, however not yet reached f_ucker or m_otherf_u_cker. Not to be confuzed with douche.

I guess the term has just made it across the pond. As to it being more or less offensive, i guess it relates more to the meaning given to it. I personally think it's hilarious and use the term on a regular basis.
