Hi guys reasonably new to kiting, but had an unusual surf today, after rigging up gear and doing some "pre flight checks" as i usually do, i was finding that when i pulled on my bar, it seemed to depower kite?? I had a big weekend so i assumed i somehow messed up my lines? So brought it down and double checked my rig and it was fine?? Its a Cab 08 convert, same ol thing colour to colour,( those kites are fool proof (possibility of me being a fool)) etc etc, simple? But i cant work out why this happened? What have i done?? Im seriously baffled as i have been using this set up for 6 months now, and never done this? Cheers lads

There is a thing called over sheeting where you increase the angle of attack so much that the kite losses power/ disturbs the air flow over the kite. In this case the kite often flys backwards

Is the kite new, as after the first couple of sessions the front lines stretch a bit

Don'T forget that angle of attack changes as you fly the kite through the window.

Next time you drive your car stick right hand out the window make it into the shape of a wing(more or less)start with your fingers parallel to the ground, and slowly twist your wrist up till your thumb is pointing straight up you should feel the effect of angle of attack. Please only do this when it is Safe, no other cars around ect.. I'd hate to hear you lost a hand trying this

Cheers Ian, the kite is a season old, , so the lines have defiantly settled. I rigged the kite up to the second pigtail i probably should have used the first, for the wind conditions, and trimmed the de power to suit eh. Thanks mate, i promise not to to sue when i lose my arm!
