Ian, I'd like to see the photos too.

The Margaret River swell graph is still showing 7-8m swell - but unfortunately it looks like it will peak at midnight. Still maybe one of the Point Walter night kiters might want to give it a go as it will still be howling

Could be good if it peaks at midnight 6m is still pretty durned healthy swell!

BTW - that beachy monster is pretty hard to get past at the best of times let alone with dead onshore wind and a +6m swell drivin the beast. Best of luck mate.

after picking up kite surfing in december and having a lot of fun with it, i got ahead of my self and decided to go out at yallingup about two months ago on a a stormy day. Im not a total dumbass, i went out with someone experienced and i know the break very well. Body dragging through that beachie at rabbits was...um.... a little hairy but i got through. Spent about half an hour out there before i hit some sort of glassy patch (it was pretty Gusty) and my kite just dropped, got tangled and then kept looping and trying to take off and eventually got caught up in whitewater near mousetraps. With a crowd on the beach watching and me heading out of control towards cape naturalist i abandoned all my gear and swam in, got to the beach and ran about 500m up and met my kite as it washed up on the beach. About half an hour later my board washed up.

I was **** scared before i went out and in hinesight should have stayed on the beach because i was waaaaay underdone, but you never know unless you give it a go hey?

New found respect for mother nature (not that i didnt before), and skilled wavekiters. Ive got a lot to learn

Good times!

Dont beachyaselfupbro..

The only good session I had there was a dodgy as hell take off..
then really great session with only one other kite and two poleys all havin fun..
then major drama end where the breeze dies and I end up almost eking my way in but drama with the kite collapsed on the shore and my lines all tangled around rocks etc.

One of the polleys tried to get in with no wind too, and got dumped by the nasty shorey breaking his boom/mast. Still an awesome sesh though!! The polley was bummed but still pretty stoked on the sesh too! That big arsed ramp out the back is worth it (almost).

yep it was when i was trying to get in, just to the right of grannies pool about 50m out, it just turned to bloody glass and i couldnt get in, and on the flipside the guy i went out with was on the beach at the time and couldnt get out to help me. He as a frothing little euro actuall rocked up at yallingup for the first time and launched straight from the carpark south of mains and walked/dragged across the rocks to get out. I didnt see it otherwise i wouldve advised against it. How he made it over those rocks i dunno but he was missing a bit of skin off his soft euro toes
