Anyone need a new pump or better pump.

Im looking at organising a group buy of ~20 pumps. They are aluminium shafted and come with pressure gauges.

The cost breakdown from supplier is as such

Pump + gauge = 13 USD
Pump = 10USD
Freight by air for 20 pumps = 147 USD

So per pump its about 20.35USD = ~27AUD
ontop of this it would be 10% gst + 5% duty so total would work out to be about $31 AUD.

Obviously by ship would be quite a bit cheaper but would take probably 4+weeks.

Anyway give us a shout if your interested. I wouldn't mind buying 2-3 for future sake.

Hey Carbine, yup I would be interested, have had 2 pumps with plastic shafts break and have seen others suffer the same hassle. Our company has reasonable rates from Fedex, if you want to discuss send me an email.

I am with you on this one carbine. Decent aluminium shaft pumps outlast Big W ones by a factor of ten or more. That said carbine, I am on the east coast and already have two so sorry - I am not much help.

I do have a brand new spare one I would be willing to sell if you just wanted one.

I got a metal shaft kite pump from Jason in Rocko for $35, I thought this was pretty cheap

Sounds like a lot of hassle for the sake of a few bucks.

I'm sure if you contacted him and said you wanted 20 he would do something.

How much are the gauges worth??

Airborne Kitesurfing's got the aluminium shaft pumps on $45. Other stores would be able to get them in from the Airush dealer. A gauge can be attached if you have one. If you get desperate and can't wait 4 weeks they're an option.

Carbine, I'm definitely interested in a new metal shaft pump with gauge. Please let me know what you decide on. Plastic shafts suck.

I am actually keen to add a gauge to my aluminium shafted pump. Is there one that can be purchased as an add-on to the standard pumps?

Guys,
Slingshot or Wipika metal shaft pump with guage RRP $55. with backup stock and instant warranty service if required.
Buy 20 and I can do a little better, but the reality for me is, you have to let me make a little money so I can afford to open the doors and stock all the toys you want to see.

Im with you 100 % Nothing beats the hummimg sound of that little electric motor in the back ground as i walk out my line and then return to a inflated kite and all this happiness only cost $230 i think that is money well spent.
Now for the helpful bit of the post. From what i have been reseaching on the net their are two companies, Bravo and another ,that make these pumps and Bravo has got a contract with Naish and Slingshot to supply them. They are put in a bag and labelled and the price is nodoubt increase ten fold because it is now a kite surfing item. Same pump new bag.
i am not sure if the kite companies have caught on to the fact that the other companies pumps are identical to the Bravo 12V and i think are cheaper due to the fact that they do not come from a company based in italy .This means that they would not have any binding contractes that would prevent a large group purchase of pumps from them and they have a Australian distributor so may even have them in stock .
On Monday i will ring the Australian distributor and find out how much they are and if they are sold in Oz .
this may all come to nothing but may be worth investigating .
the Bravo pumps can be viewed at www.bravo-pumpar.se./skikart.htm I like the one that pumps 500L a min and does 11.5 psi

Carbine, if this is one, count me in.
Where are you located?

Btw if you get it shipped by USPS United states Postal Service,
It is less likely to get taxed as much as if you use a courier service likefex ed.
Takes about a week to get here via express on average.

Also if its below a certain amt... i think if the goods are valued below $230US or A$250/300, they dont get taxed.

you can check with the customs hotline

You can get a free kite when you buy a $2000 pump from any of the kiteshops.

Carbine what did you end up doing? I'm still looking for a pump. I can't afford a metal shaft one (ridiculously priced around 60 - 70 bucks), and will never buy a crappy plastic one again. What option did you end up taking?
