I was wondering if an Easterly wind (forecast for Thursday and Friday) is any good at Kurnell? Should be almost sideshore, but does it get gusty coming past the refinery? Where else is good?

Easterly gets gusty at Kurnell, it's gotta come over the cliffs and national park before it hits us so it's pretty crap. Your best bet would be Boat Harbour. Otherwise Doll's might be ok depending on what the tides doing. I don't ride Doll's much but I'd imagine it'd be much better than Kurnell.

dogsbody,
Dolls will be dead on shore. You can still ride there but just be carefull as you have lots of houses and power lines.
Like Jeff said boat harbour would be best or have a gusty ride at Kurnell (not recommended)

Thanks I will avoid Kurnell. It looks as though the Easterlies will be bringing loads of rain, so it could be a write-off anyway!

Hey Matt, does anybody ride in the river mouth part in easterlies? That's where I was thinking, not so much the main part where everyone usually rides. Don't know if it's feasible or not though, just thought it might've been rideable.

Hey Jeff
Yeah the river mouth and out into the Bay, I have ridden lots of light easterlies at Dolls. Just need to make sure you have enough power to get away from the shore quickly once you are upwind you can ride paralell to the shore all the way up to the Novotel (past there is out of bounds!!)
Hopefully it will be on today, its forecast for E or ENE at 18 -23 knots, yesterday it never happened anyway.

Cya and
