I tested a Duotone Evo 10 meter last week in 22 to 26 knots and it was fantastic and maybe even a bit overpowered in the 26 knot gusts.

Obviously I didn't feel underpowered. But haven't had a chance to test it in 18 knots or less and that's my concern because Perth average is probably 18 - 23
So I am on the fence about what size to get as my day to day is normally a 12meter Airush Lithium. But the shop I am buying the Evo from is suggesting I get a 10.
Although I do trust the guys selling me the kite, I can't change the nagging feeling that I am going to be underpowered in 18 knots. I guess I'm just hoping for some reassurance from some heavier riders that the 10 is a good choice.
My thinking would be 11 and a 9?

Currently riding a 140x42 board.
Any 100kg plus riders on an Evo with some insight?

Or hopefully hear from 100Kg riders and their experience on an Evo and their size preference.

12m airush lithium is a grunty ass kite with a big obvious bottom end. I'm not 100kg but I've ridden with a few over the years and just about every evo version. I can categorically say that a 10m Evo in 18 knots is too small a kite for you man.
id go 11m at a bare minimum. 18 knots would be fine for a 75kg rider maybe even then it's yawn material.

I imagine the benefits of extra canopy support would increase exponentially with higher rider weight.

if I was a heavy rider and looking to fly kites in conditions above their recommended wind range- I would target kites with larger leading edge diameters, higher inflation pressures and more struts. And then look to upsize 2m on whaterever kite a 75kg rider was using on the day.

As a 95kg rider I have a 2020 10M Evo I will only pump it up over 22kts.

As a heavier rider consider a Core XR5/6. it is a grunty kite that jumps to the moon. I have the 13.5m XR5 has me riding from 12kts, having fun from 14kts, boosting from 16kts and tops out at 23kts. A 11m XR5/6 will be my next kite.

11 meter as my daily 18 - 23knots. I have my 9 meter for 24 plus and hopefully adding a foil to the quiver next season for those 18 knots or less days.

I like the idea of a 5 strut kite, but I haven't found one that drifts well, whereas the Lithium and the Evo both drift so well.

Although I will say it doesn't matter how hard I pump them, I still collapse a wing with hard turns. (But I guess that's to be expected )

Bit out there ... but cant help but think you should try a SLS Neo 10 or even bigger to compare before you buy ... very good at light wind end due to lightness of build( hoping it will hold together ok ) , as well as grunt ( may be better than Evo?) super stiff frame , fast and amazing drift.

lve just bought a 9 sls and although only used on foil so far in 9 - 11kts it's amazing kite , as above. My 120 kg friend had a go in the beach and we could not bend it, slight flair but I don't expect this kite will bend under normal kiting conditions. He was surprised by its stiffness . Watching another friend and having a go on his sls 12 Neo convinced me to go for this kite.

It seems to have taken all of the good traits of the Neo and packed them into a lighter and stiffer platform.
It's a next level kite IMO. And can be a user friendly all round kite .

It's worth looking at.
