Just arrived in town a few days having moved to Exmouth, graveyards is awesome to kite. Also wanted to know from locals if anyone kites anywhere else or is interested in downwinders? Also, is there a way to find out if the wind is blowing down the west coast of exmouth without actually driving the 25 odd K's down there??

hey ali, graveyards is the best spot to kite in the south wester. if you want flat water try sandy bay or neds camp. sandy bay is a day trip, neds is 10 mins south of the national park entrance.
i am always up for a downwinder from tantabiddi to graveys once the swell recedes in november.
you can pretty much count on the wind being in after 230 every day, even if its still easterly or calm on the town side.
http://www.aims.gov.au/pages/facilities/weather-stations/ningaloo-wind.html gives a wind reading at milyering visitor centre. its not very accurate and not updated regularly but it shows when the wind has turned. or you can ring them.
hope that helps mate. see ya at graveys today, (i am flying a fuel).

Hi Ali,
It would be great to catch up sometime, which will probably be down the beach. Glad you love the area as it is such a unique place for all to enjoy (As long as they look after it-please).
Sure Scotty will be keen for a down winder sometime once his kite is repaired, swell subsided, oh yeah and if he isn't working!! I will be keen for a kiting photo shoot and champagne too.
