Finally get all my gear needed to start kiteboarding and there has been no wind all long weekend and doesnt look like its going to get much better anytime soon! Id even just like to practice body dragging so i dont loose my new board!

And with this LA nina we can expect more of the same for a few years.

All new learners should be clearly warned of the following:

Just because :

#1 Its a long weekend.
#2 ANY weekend.
#3 You have a new kite/board.
#4 You have amassed a HUGE amounts of Brownie points.
#5 You have a leave pass from the missus
#6 You have arranged to meet your kiting mates at the beach
#7 You have a day off
#8 Your annual vacation

Does NOT mean there will be ANY wind !!

Failure to make these points perfectly clear to newbies by their instuctors is creating a lot of depressed people !!

youre the guy from s heads aren't you? I was out there with chippa for 2hrs on my 9m yesterday! swell would have been a bit hairy for learning though.

I disagree with you user...

It means that there will undoubtably be LESS wind if any of the above occurs
