I came accross this as I was browsing the Eclipse website and was wondering if anybody who went on this Fiji tour in past years could provide me with some feedback especially with regards to wind, accom and food.
I am seriously considering going on this packaged tour but I have to convince my wife that there is good accommodation and children activities.
Some info on non kiting activities would be handy also.

I'm still yet to use my Best Golf bag that I got over a year ago from Kitepower - I'm hoping this year I will finally be able to use it.

Thanks

Fiji's probably not a good idea.

Its always super cheap because the place goes like this coup de tat, military rule, coup de tat, military rule. Best bet is to go by boat, stay on the boat, never leave the boat, and bring your anti-pirate kit.

Thats a bit unfair. I've been to Fiji during one of the coups and you wouldn't of even known. The fijian people know where their bread is buttered so they don't usually take out their frustrations on tourists like some other countries.

Coups! I think you would have to be on the steps of the fiji parliment in Suva as it happened to even know it happened.

As for Kids, It's an idealistic lifestyle.
playing on beach, catching sandcrabs, swimming, paddling on kayaks and windsurfers, snorkeling, fishing, boat trips, hand feeding fish, being spoilt by all the Fijian and Indian babysitters.

There is some splendid family accommodation to be upgraded to but that's a definite first in best dressed basis.

No wind activities: all resorts have these but as is the norm, anything beside the basic on the beach equipment has it's own cost.
On this trip we negotiate in advance with the owner a package of no wind activities included in the price.
Outer Reef Fishing
Outer reef snorkeling
Ocean Kayaking
Wakeboarding ( use the kiteboards, it's more fun)
Fijian Village tour
shopping trip to Raki Raki
Hindu firewalking(a real community ceremony)
