Mui ne is a small fishing village in Southern Vietnam known for its windy conditions, arguably the best in S.E.Asia and is home to Win. He grew up in this small village and only four years ago while working as a beach boy in one of the kite schools, learnt how to kite. Fast forward to the present and Win is now a sponsored rider for Ben Wilson Surf, the first professional Vietnamese kitesurfer to date and you only need to watch this profile to see why.

Very very cool.
Constantly blown away by the kite control and skill young kiters bring to this sport.
Kiting hands down must be the most dynamic and exciting use of Mother Nature.
My Christmas holidays have now been decided.

If you guys would like any info on Mui ne check out these guys. www.vietnamkitesurfingtours.com/

They run tours to the places in this video and are also happy to advise on accom and some of the more secluded surf and kite spots that are here.

Thanks for the comments, Win is over the moon that so many people have watched this film.

Cheers.

Great vid, Love DNB, love Vietnam.

Gotta say it doesn't look too hard to get sponsored, surely most experienced wave riders here (4 yrs and over) are about this good?

Sorry SB, there is more to this story than just sponsorship. Win has a very interesting background and given the situation this is a good story.

Yes, there are many peeps on all beaches that can rip but this kid could unbelievable given a chance. That chance has been delivered by Bombora/bws and I salute them for the initiate.

Wheres the location with the lighthouse? Is that just North of Mui Ne Village around the point? Have to be some great spots between Mui Ne and Na Trang.

Gotta love it when you make a spelling mistake.!!!

My last word on a previous reply was meant to be "Initiative".

Lighthouse is at Ke Ga, south of Mui Ne.

Vietnam has a couple of thousand km's of coastline with hundreds of spots yet to be ridden.

Couldn't have put it better myself Tony and he has only been kiting altogether for 4 yrs, not waveriding for 4 yrs. Looking forward to seeing what this guy can do with the right backing and direction he now has. Watch this space......

The kid rips, I can appreciate the skill and kite control he is showing...
Can't see how you came to that conclusion after seeing a minute something clip of him. Lol.

How consistent is the swell in the dry season Nov to April. Is it shoulder high constantly or do you have a heap of knee high days.

The dry season brings big thermals to Mui ne, 25-35 knts is not unusually in the late afternoon and swell is generated by tropical storms further up north around Luzon and out in the South China sea. Big shore break on the main kiting beach but as you can see there are a whole load of different beaches to choose from that get a better wave. Its not Balian but its a rideable and sometimes massive swell when the conditions are right. Oh and a cold one here sets you back a cool dollar.......
