Razor Clams plenty of these. I landed on my back the last time I was there and it sliced through the wetty and just skimed the skin. And My toe is now healed from the time before.

And watch out for the trees on the islands, I know a couple of blokes that have had there kites trashed by them
Thanks Ric, I thought as much....had the same problem with the clams at squids at Belmont. Those things are nasty if you come into contact with em, even with boots. Thanks again for the info, much appreciated.
it must be where your kiting though, Ive fallen off hundreds of times at squids and never hit or even seen a clam or razorfish, but have stepped on catfish
same goes for teh co-op although i havnt actually stepped on anything nasty there at all yet
i'm still learning have had to trek upwind at squids on many occasions, never seen a razor shell in the water there but have seen some beauties that other people have thrown onto the bank..
yes, i am one of those sad poor bastards that let the island claim one of my kites.... how cool,im in a minority....sik. very shallow but heaps of fun, best part about any kiting in newcastle is the comradery(is that right?) from fellow kiters.we in newy seem to express an aurra while kiting & sharing your own fun during a session!! gotta love all newy crew`s & the place that we live,if you look at the news it makes you sad to be aussie(no aussie looks aussie),but all you have to do is look at your fellow kiter to feel the one with aust !!! as cartan said"screw you guy`s,im pissed,im mean,im going home!!!! daz newcastle.........is best !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
