New video of Peter M?ller
FS teamrider Peter M?ller has edited a nice video of the last weekend on Fehmarn/Gemany. www.flysurfer.com/News/article/1550/

Long distance World Record with FLYSURFER
The Skypower Expert-Team has set a new kiteboarding long distance world record. The old record (300km) was beaten by a fair margin with a total distance of 342,57km. The material used to achieve this world record were a FLYSURFER PSYCHO3 and a FLYBOARD by Spleene. Congratulations to the Skypower Team from all of us at FLYSURFER. More information will follow soon. A German report can already be found here. www.flysurfer.com/News/article/1509/

FLYSURFER dominates hangtime competition...
FLYSURFER impressively showed the potential of their self inflatable kite system at the "Haengt Ihn Hoeher" (Hangtime) competition which was held in Cuxhaven, Germany last weekend. http://www.flysurfer.com/News/article/1496/

Flysurfer ram air lovers crashed in Germany. They were completely WIPED OUT in the Freestyle events.

PKRA Germany, more than anything else, emphasises the huge performance gap between inflatables and ram airs. For the characteristics 99.9% of riders want, ie fast turning, air, hangtime, stability, safety, relaunch, ease of setup, ease of maintenance, and resale, inflatables are MUCH better than ram airs. This is why no ram airs will appear in the top 20 PKRA Freestyle this year, or ever.

For some reason, ram lovers are obsessed by their (very ordinary) results in hangtime in Germany. World records for hangtime are WAY longer than the 6+ secs obtained by Flysurfer in Germany. And these records are held by inflatables. The reason Flysurfer did ok in the German hangtime events is because that was their focus: ie they deliberately chose much bigger kites than the conditions would otherwise warrant and went out massively overpowered. Any kook can get impressive hangtime when they use their gear in this way... the question is, do you really want to and what does it prove? The fact that Flysurfer diverted their resources and efforts into winning such a narrow-interest event (by going out massively overpowered) only proves that they are unable to mix it up with the serious competition in Freestyle. It reminds me of those guys we all knew in school who couldn't play football so chose to become experts at ping pong.

Ignore the lies. Ignore the propaganda. Ram airs are aerodynamically inferior to inflatables. It is proven every day in Freestyle events and is well documented in world hangtime records.

I hate flaming any here on SB - BUT
PMU your post here is a disgustingly biased load of CR@P
Dont know whose barrow you are pushing but its a barrow full of SH!T.
Its fair to discuss your preferences and why (thats what forums are for) but keep it within the bounds of somewhere near reality.

stability - I dont think so, depends which foil or blow-up you compare (IMO)
safety - yes & no depending on what safety ?
relaunch - yes & no depending on situation ?
ease of maintenance - you have gotta be kidding right.
resale - FFS - now everyone knows you are completely full of sh!t.

EXACTLY (the only bit of PMU's advice worth reading)
Ignore PMU's lies & PMU's propaganda - it is so obviously a slanted commercial post from a faceless (read gutless) PMU of 2 posts.

PS and all this from an LEI kiter (for my own reasons)
ie except for my 17M SPEED - kn awesome kite

Here's a flame, I think? How bloody hard is it to get a test ride?! First you don't offer one, so I go on riding my LEI that day, then the next time I see you at the beach having been instructed to ask specifically for a go then the wind is too light! I thought they were lightwind machines? Sure I couldn't even plane with my 13m, but what the hell, you were still out! So what I weigh about 35kg more than you, where were your bigger kites?

OT: Big end sailboats (Americas cup etc.) are using inflatable battens that can change pressure making the sail profile adjustable...
Imagine a kite that you could blow up to a certain pressure giving it a nice deep pocket for light winds... Then pump it right up for a flatter profile.....
This isnt even a comment, Nobody's gonna win that bloody t-shirt for that first sea-breeze in WA, and Mark Shinn wasnt talking about seabreeze................................just a few ****ers

And let's not forget Flysurfer Australia's failure to honour warranties: http://www.kiteforum.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=4612&highlight=

Flysurfer kites are aerodynamically inferior compared to inflatables and simply are not able to withstand normal environmental conditions. Since their kites aren't up to scratch, the least they could do is honour their warranties- but they can't even do this.
