Interested in the performance of the Speed 2 / 15mtr. I realise it is excellent for up wind ability but how about the surf . Is it any good for down winders and does it fall out of the sky if you sail towards the kite ?
All info appreciated.
Thanks.

Does anybody have one in Oz yet?
For all but the big boys (or girls), I reckon the Speed2 15 is the lightwind weapon of choice (and deep pockets).
All I can suggest is you check out some of the reviews on foilzone. Obviously in light winds downwind runs have a much greater effect than in stronger wind,

Oh I want one, or maybe the 12, just trying to scrape together enough $......

i want to get a 17m for the low times.

it seems the flysurfer has a lower wind range than my 16m sb2.

They don't make a Speed2 in 17m, only 6, 8, 10, 12, 15 & 19.

I have a Speed1 17m in mint condition if you're interested Joe - I need to sell it before I drag a new 15m Speed2 out of the bag when it arrives

Our first shipment of 15m Speed2's arrives in 2-3 weeks. There are none in Oz ATM, so as Tobes suggests you're better off checking the reviews on foilzone and kiteforum.

hey jeff- do you know when you will be coming to the gold coast for demo's ?

Also some advice needed for a flysurfer for the days when the 2007 sb2 won't pull (usually <14 knots if southerly- <12 knots if northerly)-

would i get away with a 15 m flysurfer or better to go 17?? I thought maybe the pulse as it has the best water relaunch ??

88 kgs 139x41, or north 5'10" rocketfish, or mako 150x36-

Word is the 15m Speed2 has a similar low end to the original Speed 17. The turning is better, the kite keeps its power through turns (apparently).
You just missed out on my Speed 17, sold, but if you can find one, grab it.
For low wind I'd deftinitely be looking at the Speeds, or maybe the Psycho3, but not the Pulse.

hey tobes, do you know if the 15 m would have more traction than a 16 m bow in the same <15 knot winds?

I would like to get the increased turning speed, but not at the expense of power. I can use the sb2 in moderate winds- just not in the light winds.

How would it compare to a PL 16M V2 ?

Sambo www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=27605 Jeremy said "Initially i took out my Venom 13m, and as soon as i was in lower winds closer to shore i had to work the kite very hard and frequently was unable to stay up on the board. I came in and took the Flysurfer out. It was like chalk and cheese. I was amazed how upwind i could go."

He has since bought Tobes 17m Speed1 after buying my 10m Speed1!

Although I have not flown either yet, I think it would be pretty safe to say that the 15m Speed2 would leave PL 16M V2 for dead as far a bottom end of useful wind range

Having a Pl 19V and a FS psycho 3 13m i can tell you for sure that a speed 2 15 would leave a v16 for dead. It would leave the V19 for dead. Even the P3 13m would leave a v16 for dead.
