Hi all, I recently purchased a new board, an M8 131.I love the board, but i'm having problems with the straps. I'm getting bruising on the top of the feet, directly above the arch area. the only thing I can think of is that I have very high arches and when kiting in small waves(slop) ect, with the impact on the board hitting the water that the pressure is flatening out the feet then there recoiling back up and hitting the top of the strap.

Has anyone had simalar problem's and added mods, ie: small arch suppory pads, softer straps ? It's really starting to p$ss me off to the max and I'm starting to finish sessions earlier in fear of actually causing damage, and as we know, anything that cuts a session short MUST be fixed

G'day Steve,

I have similar problems with the straps on both my Underground FLX's. Awesome boards but sh1t straps.

I'm looking at getting a coupla sets of Airush multi adjustable sets to bolt on. They're around $250 per set but having ridden an 07 Airush Xpact recently they're worth it

i dont want to payout a brand but... the airush standard straps are so ****... you are in pain until your feet get numb because the dimple things dig up into your feet.
the Liquid force "luxury" straps are so good although not by any means cheap.
and the airush ones i dont think you can tighten on the fly. (i might b wrong but my other straps ive been able to tighten/loosen while riding)
and the underground was fine but didnt work 4 my feet (14US)

Thank's guy's,

The board I upgraded from was an old stonker with very simplistic soft( no adjustments, other than to board)straps and they were fine, may have to try a couple of different set ups out and find a happy medium. I have a simalar problem with snow boarding boots and have to insert arch support's.

Ive only got size 8 feet and there's a lot of adjustment to play with in the m8 straps, I might try and add some padding to the underside of the upper area of the m8's?. Clark Rubber should have some water friendly material(foam) that I could may'be utilize.

Sh$t, late for work....................... -------->

Dakine pads and straps are the best I have ever used. The straps are oversized and the pads are flat. The pads are so soft they dont come off as you feet mould in easily, perfect for a guy with high arches who used to get sore feet

I think the damage may have already been done, both feet are bruised at the top and the right one has lump, look's like i've got a small golf ball in there, might go to the GP and get an opinion, "bugger".

Hey Dops,

I reckon that the sweetest footstraps are also Airush ones, they really have had the best straps and pads for a few years now, nice and wide, multi adjustable and yes they can be micro adjusted on the water.

They also have 6 holes for different positioning at each strap end making 12 per strap and the boards have 6 inserts per strap in the board which gives plenty of variety and the ability to custom setup your straps to fit big or small, flat or tall feet.

Checking them out costs nothing.

Good winds,

All's good Dave....,thank's for the info, the doc's going to check it out tommorrow. I only get to kite weekends because of work, for the last month, it flares up after a weekend session, subsides during the week and then I go and stuff it again the next weekend.

I'm booked in for a full week at Sandy Point(Vic) mid Feb, that's why the panic attack, I'm thinking surgery, "no fkn way josie".
