Hey guys
Just wondering if many people have tried one of these freeboards with a big trainer say 2 or 3 meter? Does it have enough power? Is it hard to learn if you havent done much kiting? Im thinking this might be a good way to get some kite boarding skills till i can afford to get a decent set up when i get back from working up north. Anyone know of any good carparks or anything like that in perth?
Cheers guys
Tim

Better off getting a landboard and going on grass or hard packed sand. If you haven't ridden a freeboard before I think you would find it pretty hard, they take a bit of experience to ride. Adding a kite into the mix and tarmac I don't think it would be a good idea.

Try and hook your self up with a small water foil like a pl arc (630's a good size, pretty easy to handle in 10-15knots for a noob). That way you can do landboarding but also practice body dragging and stuff in the water. Plus they are cheap.

Of course the quickest way to learn is to get some lessons and water time. You might spend months practising on a landboard but it won't translate much into kitesurfing. A few hours on the water and you will be upto that level.

Ryland and Shannon have been doing it for a while. Heaps like kiting because you can slide out to depower. Not as hard as general freebording caus you hold an edge most of the time.
