Just had the leading edge come unstitched, which blew the main bladder out... @#*$!@/$@!!!

I really enjoy this kite and the way it flies, but I am starting to seriously question the quality. Back to the the sail maker again... This kite is starting to look like a patchwork quilt.

Great flying kite but it sure is starting to look like it has had a hard life.

Won't go into the list of niggling things that have fallen off or broken, but if you are a happy Sonic owner, make sure you check constantly for wear and fix it immediately at first sign of wear.

For me it is time to think of a change as I want a kite that lasts at least one full season and has some resale value. Also I am getting sick of swimming in and walking past the Cabrinha crew with another wet and sorry looking kite.

If you stopped crashing the kite doing kiteloops doogle it would probably be alright. Only joking, I've seen your kite personally and I know you've had dramas just like mine and I totally agree with you. Great kite, pitty about the quality..

doesnt the guy you bought it off repair it at his cost? and in the mean time give you a kite to use!
He should.

Just checked my 14 too (the problems were with 11). The stitching is pulling apart on this one as well...

The distributor was down the day it happened (not Alex from Stonker). No mention of warranty. Can't be bothered getting into a long discussion without a kite. Easier and quicker to get it fixed and get back out on the water.

Definatly a few things I will think about when buying a new quiver next year.

I had a similar problem with my Windwing rapture 1, the first batch had dodgy stiching on the LE and caused the seam to crinkle and break although not enough to pop the bladder.
It was fixed by the distributor (www.kitesurfdirect.com) as a warranty issue and I had a loan kite, It was a pain to have to return it but thanks to Gabor for dealing with it and helping me get back out on the water quickly.

I have had no real problems on my Sonic. There is a little fraying on some of the leading edge panel seams where it drags on the sand during self launch but other than that it is doing fine after 35 hours use (I keep records. )

I do agree that some of the bits and pieces are a bit clunky (the stopper ball thing is a waste of time and the wear patches are useless.) But there is nothing majorly wrong with the kite ... and there is heaps that is majorly good about it. I am very pleased that I chose it over a Crossbow.

On Saturday I had a similar issue on my Switchblade 16 - fabric on the center strut ripped (part on the seam and part not), and bladder blown. Not sure which came first, if the explosion caused the fabric to tear or if the fabric came undone and causing the bladder to pop out and burst. Anyone else have experience with this? Pressure in the struts was probably even less than recommended. The kite is 2 weeks old and I have used it 3 times only. Apart from the wing tip catching the water 2/3 times on a bottom turn, the kite has not been in the water and was not crashed once. I am waiting for an answer from Cabrinha on the warranty claim but in the mean time I am without a kite. Anyway Doogle, don't envy the Cabrinha crew too much.

Had one of the first batch of 11's and had problems distributer replaced my kite with the new one (with the shiney plastic inserts) I have had no problems since (40+ hours).

These are **** hot kites, especially the 8m, for wave riding - not sure for tricks as I don't do handle passes etc

Have seen Xbows with similar issues, burst bladders and tearing in half, if I were you Doogle I would spend the time to discuss your issues with the distributer - globerider have addressed all the issues from the first batch - these kites come out of the same factory as Best kites with very similar build quality.
