go boxing training, no weights just exercises, all over body workout and you get bloody fit, I started in nov 04, couldnt run 100m without needing oxygen. Ran london marathon in april 05 in 4hrs 30 mins. After just 6 months of twice a week and out running 3 times a week( started off doing 2k then ended up doing 15k) I was probably the fittest I have ever been in my life and i am no spring chicken, im 46.

Hey all,

Well, kite season is pretty much over here in Sydney, apart from the odd Southerly. I was looking at my options for when there is no surf and narrowed it down to paragliding or going to the gym :) Due to financial constraints I unfortunately have chosen the later (unless someone wants to donate to the "Get Tom High" fund)??

Anyway, looking to optimizing next season by getting in shape to have longer and harder sessions. Has anyone done this before? The main constraint I have is I get a sore back, especially when going upwind. What are the best exercisers for this, and for kiting in general.

Go to the Gym and be just like me and get all the fringe benefits

You can extend your kite season and gain fitness by land boarding. 10 knots will get you going with the right kite and it is fun as well.

Does wonders for your core!
