Yes I am what you call a ‘kite wife’ and I’m starting to get sick of hearing about kiting and wind. I really, honestly want to care and want to be interested but I also want to know if there is any way I can get my boyfriend to stop talking about it besides distracting him with food and sex. It’s getting tiring.

Haha

After a couple of years of trying my wife gave up and is now learning to kite. Do it now, or you'll end up having to do it sooner or later.

Once after "alone time" i said "looks winds out there" and was struck in my privates.

Learn to kite is also my suggestion. Me and my girl are hopefully going up to Far North Queensland this winter. I wonder if she'll be happy with my 'lesson package' gift

I go kiting while my wife looks after the kids - we're a perfect team.

If we both were into kiting then there would be problems.

Ahhh this old chestnut.
I had a girl that couldn't stand it either. I'm assuming he's relatively new to the sport? If you think seabreeze is bad wait till you have to sit on the beach in the cold wind so he can show you the new trick he has learnt (but can't get everytime so it takes a hour to finally pull it.)
My girlfriend now is brilliant. She loved hearing about it (or pretended to) and supported me heaps. And now she is a kiter too. And to show my appreciation, i bought her her first kite, a brand new DNA- which looks sexy.
So now we race to get on seabreeze first.

You know what they say crazyg If you can't beat em.... join em

P.S. Jacq, if your reading this, can we have teriyaki chicken tonight please babe? See you after training.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

your so funny stacey(crazy g)

MEDIC, she has spent plenty of time sitting on the windy beach and she LOVES it hahahaha, come on babe it gives you time to read lol

im sorry if its all i talk about but u must admit its better than talking bout coffies with the girls(cause thats all i here about)

and iknow it would be better if she took up kiting like you all say but going out for coffies is as extreme as my love gets

now get of seabreeze and do some work

my girlfriend is into photograpghy so it works out well for me

i get to practice and she gets to practice as well then when we go home i can look at the photos and work out what im doing right/wrong

it helped me to learn how to land my jumps and the most important bit is the photos helped me get rid of the dreded poo stance

My situation is the opposite. I have a hubby who is sooooo uninterested in the sport.

Wish he was interested but he's not. AND..... He hates me being on the forum all the time

If your missus hates kiting enough to nag you about it, they are gonna hate lots of other things as well and probably is nagging you all the time about sh#t, the solution is to ditch that piece of work as soon as you can. Theres plenty more chicks on the beach.

My wife is not interested at all. She thinks I have some sort of love affair with the computer. Then again, taking her to the beach could be dangerous because she will the REAL love affair I have with the kite!!

I'm very lucky with the fact my boyfriend kites, however he's not been doing it as long as me and is still overly enthusiastic about the sport to the extent that I get fed up of only listening to or talking about it. I often find myself saying "there's more to life than just kiting you know"....you'd think I'd done something ghastly when I talk like that if your saw his reaction!!

Crazyg, I agree with Jamie-Lee give it a go, learn from an instructor not your husband. It's an awesome sport and although at the beginning your partner may try and tell you how to do things, he'll soon shut up when you get good and are doing things he can't. The joy of being a female kiter is we don't just go and thrash it out on the kite, we listen, watch and learn then go out and try things.....it really is great to watch girl kiters in action!! That'll shut him up!!

Otherwise if you don't want to try it, when he's not on seabreeze or talking about his last kite session (which is sadly one of the bad parts of being addicted to this sport...we all have the problem and it can't be fixed!), then just talk to him about something equally as boring for him about what you did while he was entranced by his kite!

If you take the sport up, let me know and I can direct you towards girls in your area who kite :-)

Good Luck!
