I have had 3 lessons with Kitesurf Gold Coast learning the basics, I think I just need one more lesson to learn the board side of things. I have purchased a 2006 13m Best Waroo kite from OnEdge and managed to pickup a 2006 Naish Haze - 146 cm board.
Now I am looking for a good location to practice with the kite a bit more, just body dragging, before I go for my next lesson.
Can anyone suggest a good location, also do we have any friendly kiter's that don’t mind a newbie joining them.

Also if anybody has any pointer for me, please post back.

Why don't you ask your instructer where you can practice??

This is a common theme,beginners asking questions here that they should have already been told while having lessons.

Mate,I thought I was stating the bleeding obvious !

If *I* was teaching someone,I would be advising them of good spots to practice,plus which spots to avoid because they weren't suitable for beginners.

I would expect a good instructor's last words to a beginner finishing their lesson(s) to be:"Any questions or problems ,just give us a call"
They could sort out any minor problems such as where to kite,or,which knot to use on the pigtails etc. Or,even suggest more training if the person seems to be struggling too much.

Sorry if I was blunt,but sometimes I get annoyed,and sometimes I am in a hurry,but I am trying to help.

Anyway,my advice to beginers is to pop into the nearest kiteshop and ask them about good spots to go to.They will be only too glad to help.Especially the guys at Surf FX.

Probably even give you a map.
