Hi all,
I have a gopro and currently use a PC to do the editing. However I want to get an Air for when I travel as it is a lot smaller (and it looks nice :-).
I know these aren't as powerfull as the macbook pro, but does anyone have expereicnce editing using the standard apple software on the macbook air? Any issues with processor. ie. lagging?
The new Macbook Airs are quicker than the previous generation of Macbook Pro's so I honestly wouldn't worry about it. The solid state improves the performance substantially and your only real limitation is the 4GB RAM which is only a limitation if you intend doing heavy duty commercial editing with something like Final Cut Pro.
I'd opt for the 13" if you can, because the higher res screen may help make the editing process easier but if your hearts stuck on the 11", you should also be fine. You could also pick up a 24" external monitor for under $200 and have the best of both worlds at home. I currently run an external at home and the larger screen size definitely helps for editing.
