Hey all. New to these forums, long time lurker of seabreeze. I have a week free in the middle of a Greek island mission in July and want to do a solid week of kitesurfing in either/both Naxos and/or Paros.
I will be with a buddy who wants to learn. I am intermediate. We both want a place with good nightlife as well. Has anyone been there and can offer any suggestions please?
Cheers,

I have been to Paros and Naxos. You can do both realistically, as they are next to each other (30 minutes on the ferry) If you go, take your 9m and 7m kites as the Meltimi at this time of year gets up to 40 knots and blows from sunrise to sunset.
Paros has a kite centre that you can stay at and you get dead flat water in a kilometre wide strait between Paros and Antiparos. Its close to the main town centre.
Naxos (which I prefer) is more of a mission to get to the kite beaches but the locations are better... the beaches are wide and sandy, and it feels less developed. You would probably need to hire a quad bike to get yourself around with your gear. There is a kite school down there and I met a girl from Adelaide who had been living in Greece on and off for something like 4 years, alternating between Greece and the Alps.
In terms of nightlife I think Paros might be better than Naxos but realistically if that is what you are really after you would be going to Mykonos, where there isn't (I suspect none) as good kiting. I think you will find once you get there and make some mates you are going to have good times regardless, I'm so jealous I'm spewing. People always rave about Portugal and Spain for kiting but I reckon Greece has to be just as good. Cool people, amazing locations and its cheap cheap.
I'm away on work at the moment but when I get home I will email you some pages from the Kite and Windsurfing Guide to Europe relevant to Paros and Naxos. Also, look at www.kitebeaches.com it has a bit of info on the beaches there. So, PM me with your email if you want the info.
