A bit of a nostalgia mission here. Back in 2009-2015, my dad had an Underground FLX, the Pacific Legends line, five boards, each with a different Pacific mythology graphic. Unfortunately, due to my new account, I'm not allowed to post a photo on this forum. His was the purple one. He sold it years back and still talks about it as his favorite board hes ever had due to its visuals and performance, and genuinely regrets letting it go.

Underground closed down a long time ago (Adrian Roper went on to found Axis), so there's no company left to ask. I actually managed to track down the graphic designer, who confirmed the details and was great about it, but unfortunately I was not able to find a board from that conversation.

So now I'm doing the rounds of every kiteboarding community I can find. If anyone out there has an old Underground FLX sitting in storage, rode one back in the day and knows who might still have theirs, or just has any leads at all, I'd genuinely love to hear about it. Happy to pay for it and cover shipping from wherever it is.

UPDATE: I made the board image my profile banner on this website.

If you need a photo or some sort of visual, I'm not sure how I'd be able to, but here is a description: Purple board with a big black-and-white moai (Easter Island stone head) on the deck, facing left, with a flock of white birds flying across the rest of the board toward it. "UNDERGROUND" logo in graffiti-style lettering (white/yellow) sits in front of the moai's chest. Bottom of the board continues the same purple/bird theme, with the nose textured like carved stone to match the moai, and "FLX 135" printed near the tail.

Appreciate any pointers, even if it's just "I remember seeing one at X spot years ago."

Cheers,
Noah

Hi Noah
Underground burnt down, it devastated Adrian and his staff. One issue you will have with that board if you do manage to find one is that they used a PVC foam core and over time it can degrade and get weak so a lot of the old FLX's simply broke/creased eventually. The boards also had a fairly simple design, the bottom was either flat or slightly concave from memory.
Materials used in boards have advanced a lot since then and modern TT's definitely ride better in my opinion.
Now there is some light at the end of this, and that is that you can order custom graphic boards through at least one brand (there might be others) I know of, that being Ozone. So if you cant find one and the graphic designer will allow you to use that design then you can have one made in any of the 3 board style/designs Ozone make, being Element, Torque or my favourite the Code.

Hi Noah

Unfortunately I can't help with the exact board you are chasing but just a msg to say don't give up - they are out there!!!!

I have a few classic/historical boards in my workshop. One of those being from this series of underground boards - it looks amazing and is accompanied by an origional Shinn Monk, various delta boards and a Colin McCulloch 90cm tray board.

The underground takes prime spot on the apex of the wall and still looks as good as it did coming out of the factory - this one is maybe a later shape as bottom actually has some shape and it's touch as - still gets ridden when mates need a lender!
They still come up on marketplace occasionally so keep an eye open.

Check the photos -

Bring back boards like these. They look great.
