Curious to know what people are using as a suicide leash. The leash I use at the moment for unhooked stuff is one of my original Airush rear-line bungee leashes. It's only attached to my 5th line though, so it never takes the sort of load that a suicide leash would get. It's also way too short to use for handle-passes (I can't put it back over my head from one side to the other, even with the extension I've put on it).

Is there a 'gun' leash that people go for to use as a suicide leash?

There is 2 from mystic, one with a foam piece over the bungee so it won't cut into arm and leave burn marks when you kiss passes. There is a cheaper one as well which is just a bungee. both have emergency release ability.
The other option from slignshot is a hammer head spreader bar, rope and bungee that is bomb proof has a good quick release system which is really simple as well. bit more expensive then the mytsic one but well worth it.
Hope this helps

Just get one that is long enough and padded that's all you need. Forget if it has a "bombproof" quickrelease, you'll never use it anyway..

I use the Flexifoil leesh, it's padded and great in every way.. Only hit me severly in the face once (and yeah that did hurt) but what more can you expect. It's called suicide leesh for a reason...

Hey all,

I use a custom made Suicide Leash. I used a sheathed 16mm sheet rope and then removed the core which left only the braided outer sheath. I bowlined it to a quick release on the harness end and a snap shackle on the other end. It is attached to a running line from one side of the back of the harny to the other. It is super strong and because it has no core it lays flat and doesn't hurt when wrapped around a body part.

I've had it for years and it works a treat, guaranteed stronger than any production leash from any company and only cost about $50 mainly from the clips and snap shackles. Go into a yachting shop (chandlery) like Whitfords and hunt around for bits and make your own.

Good winds,

Thanks all for the suggestions. After a look around online, I've gone for a PL Kite Leash Pro. It comes with the line for the harness, as well as the leash, plus the harness line has a QR on it (just in case)
