but seriously - it just isnt cool to fly without a leash kiddies - kite lines do NASTY work even in little to no wind... far be it from me to wish this upon thes fellows, but better for it to happen to them because of thier own fault then some inncoent bystander.

Have you seen the video of the guy that gets a tow into the sky from a jetski? Well, one of his lines breaks and he falls 60 feet or so onto the water below. He is unconsious from the impact, nearly drowns and said afterwards on the beach in the hands of the medics, whilst holding back a bit of a muffled crying sound, that he is lucky to be alive...

I don't know the math but I certainly would not pit my 85kgs + the weight of forward speed required for lift in an upwind tow against 1mm spectra over a beach...nutso.
