Hard v Eggy Rail on a directional kite board?

My kiteboard has quite eggy/rounded rails.I am thinking of getting some Epoxy + filler to reshape and harden the edge to try and give better upwind performance.
Would this work? Would it ruin the wave riding performance? Make no diference- better to work on style? Etc.
Your help or opinion would be welcomed,

Dont do it

It will make the board heavy and it wont surf well

Going up wind on a directional is more about where your technique - you have three fins to help you drive up wind as well

There are some tips to help you go upwind like placing your back foot on the inside rail forawrd of the normal place you would have your back foot - try that

Ditto-work on your technique-I ride a standard surfboard with softish rails and mild tucked under edge (except in the tail)-it goes upwind great-your technique needs work, not your board.

Happy New Year and thanks - maybe I will try riding without the rear strap,or maybe have a go at riding a normal surf board,
