Just wondering what the views are on whether the format/design of the harness can increase the risk of back injury?
I've been using a Dakine Fusion (seat) - great harness, but somewhat restrictive.
Heard great things about the Dakine Nitrous (shorts) but wondering if the lack of padding at the back might increase the risk of injuring your back?
I had a back surgery in 2005. I started with the fusion for the same reasons, thinking it will benefit my back. I then brought a cheap waist to see if I could alternate without to much trouble. I now only have a mystic waist harness and haven't experienced any back problems since I started kiting. IMO waist harness is the best thing I did, allows much more freedom, but it has to be a good well supported one like the mystic or pat love and LF.
