very tempting,,i get hassled when i go there because my dog isn't on a leach and my kids don't wear a bike helmet,oh and you can not feed the birds (gone are the days!!!), so if you manage to kite there without getting arrested, i am there

Dont know if you realy want to do that, swallow a mouth full of that green slime and you might end up in intensive care,

Every time I drive past I wonder this.
What could they arrest you on? Is it a national park, or nature reserve or whatever?
And since when can't you feed the birds. I'm going on the weekend with a whole loaf of bread, just to rebel against that. Lol, it used to be one of my favourite things when I was younger.

The wind would probably be screwed up by the surrounding trees/hills/houses/freeway.

Don't worry mate, being a wild anarchist , i still do fees the birds.
Apparently they are wild bird and we are disturbing their feeding patern.(ranger info)

Every dad and their kid has gone to the local lake for the past 150 years to feed the birds but it has apparently recently become a major issue lol.

I am reverting to bringing the kids down to Melville and will teach them to flick bread crumbs at the kiters

Until about 7 years ago approx 1/3 of Perth poo-lution was seeping into Lake Monger (really). I used to live accross the road and it was pretty ordinary if there was no wind.

Apparently one of only 3 poo-lution pipes servicing the city area that was constructed in the 20s ran right past the lake on Vincent/Lake Monger drive.

You can imagine the state of those pipes - not exacvtly as tight as a crabs @ss!

Some very freaky folks hanging around the far side (next to freeway) in the evening when walking muttly I can tell you... [}:)]

Although I did meet a nice lass once with a t-shirt that said "Interested?" accross her nawks... Always keen to meet an interesting pair...

As for kiting I think there are enough geese around the lake already

ive kited with a 14 metre on the grassy plains near the boulevard end of vincent drive at lake monger reserve. nice big hills for landboarding and plenty of wind...not to mention the kite eating tree from that Snoopy thing...
